Difficulty with Reading, Writing, Spelling, Comprehension, or Math? I can help.
Reading isn’t just fundamental - it is critical!
Time is of the essence for struggling readers. Early intervention is ideal. Please do not ignore if your child is struggling to read at grade level. A student MUST be reading at grade level by third grade. Prior to the completion of 3rd grade, most students are learning to read. After the completion of 3rd grade, students start reading to learn—using their reading skills to gain information, solve problems, and think critically. The gap will increase for most children who have not developed into fluent readers by the third grade. It is estimated that 74% of students who struggle to read in the 3rd grade struggle to read in the 9th grade.
That is where Nicole Foodman can help. She is a reading tutor who helps children and adults in Miami who struggle to read, write, spell, and comprehend text material. She utilizes the Orton-Gillingham approach, which is the most recognized method for remediating language-based learning difficulties. This approach is also used to remediate math difficulties.
Dr. Sally Shaywitz, author and pediatrician at the Yale School of Medicine, summarizes the importance of reading in her book, Understanding Dyslexia. She says, “Reading is the most important work of childhood, and yet as many as one in five children struggle to learn to read with consequences extending beyond childhood into adult life.”
